There
are a lot of pageants out there, how do I know which one
to choose?
The best way to decide is to research the organization.
Look into who owns it, and how long have they been around. Marmas Productions has produced pageants since 1968 and
our
testimonials page
speak for itself.
Can I have a friend enter the pageant with me?
Yes, absolutely. In fact, we encourage it and have a
referral program in place – we will send you $25 for every
referred contestant that participates at the National
finals! Many of our past contestants have chosen to return
and have recommended their friends to participate as well.
Does my weight, height or body type matter?
Absolutely not! It doesn’t matter whether you're 5' tall
or 6' tall. The judges will acknowledge physical fitness,
which includes a healthy and fit body with no requirements
for height or weight.
How
is the pageant judged?
Each contestant will be judged in three areas of
competition during the preliminary round: Personality
(Interview), Beauty (Evening Gown), Figure (Swimsuit).
Explain the personality judging.
Contestants will be interviewed by each judge individually
for approximately 3 minutes while wearing jogging suits.
Political and religious questions will not be asked. The
judges will have a copy of each contestants entry form
(the copy we have on file). Revised forms will only be
accepted up to two weeks before the National finals. The
judges will review your forms before the start of the
interview.
Which pageant is right for me?
The pageant age divisions are
as follows: Miss Pre-Teen of the Nation ages 9-12, Miss
Teen of the Nation ages 13-19, Ms. American Woman ages
20-34, Ms. Lady of America ages 35-49, and Ms. Classic
American Woman age 50 and over. Our pageants require no
talent competition and any naturally born female who is
single, married, or divorced may enter.
How do I register for the pageant?
Registration is easy! We have
three ways to enter:
1. Click
on “Register Now!” fill out the entry form and
questionnaire and email a recent photo to
questions@marmasproductions.com.
2. Download
the entry form and questionnaire by clicking
Register
Now and send it to us with a recent photo.
3. Contact
us to request an entry form and questionnaire.
A select panel of judges will
review all entry forms, photos and answers to the
questionnaire from your state. The judges will select
state and regional finalists. If you are chosen to be in
one of our pageants, you
will receive notification by mail.
What happens once I am selected?
If you are selected, you will be
given a title (i.e. Miss Southern City), when we receive
your acceptance and deposit, we will order your regional
title holder sash and it will be sent to you within two
weeks of our receipt. Your sash should be worn to all
events during the pageant weekend. It may also be used to
acquire sponsors for additional revenue if needed.
What are the expenses?
We are very happy to announce that our entry fee has
not been increased! In fact, it is the same as it was six years ago! The national pageant entry
fee is just $495. We require a minimum $95 deposit (to be
applied toward your entry fee) to hold your spot on the
national roster. We accept Mastercard, Visa, American
Express, checks, money orders and Pay Pal. If you need
financial assistance, we recommend acquiring sponsors in
your local area to help offset and assist with pageant
fees. We also offer payment plans – please email us for
more information.
Where will contestants and family stay?
All pageant contestants, family
and friends are recommended to stay at the host hotel. We
have arranged for a special group rate for anyone who
mentions that they are with Marmas Productions.
What style of gown should I choose?
The only requirement for the evening gown competition is
that you wear a long gown. You can choose any style,
color, fabric, etc. Gowns can be found at many bridal
salons or large department stores.
What kind of shoes do we wear with our swimsuit?
High heels are preferred, but if you experience difficulty
walking, lower heels are recommended, especially if you
are a pre-teen.
At the pool party, can a different swimsuit be worn other
than the one on stage?
Yes, you may wear any swimsuit of your choice as long as
you adhere to the guidelines of no thongs or string
bikinis. There will not be judging at the pool; however,
photographers and members of the media will be in
attendance. The temperature will be hot, so please make
sure you use sunscreen and have appropriate cover-ups.
Water will be provided.
